Thanks greyghost, I knew it wasn't in the rules but couldn't remember where it was located.  So, yes, you can copy from a previously accepted profile but they must have been documented in that profile.  If they were, then you can either copy and paste the documentation into the new contribution...my personal choice as it propagates the documentation...or list the previous profile as the source material.

If they weren't documented in the previously accepted profile, and you still want to contribute them, you have to document them yourself.

It's possible that the person who voted 'No' doesn't have the combo disc in their collection so was unable to vote on it.  As to the contradictions, all Uncredited cast must be documented.  Copying from an existing profile does not negate that requirement.  If the profile you copied from didn't have any citations, then the uncredited cast should have been left out...unless you verified them yourself.

While the information in the referenced profile may be correct, without documentation, there is no way to know so I would consider it bad data and would not propagate that data into new profiles.

I'm not familiar with this film but if the manner of death is included as part of the role in the end credits, then I don't think you have a choice but to enter them as best as you can.

I, personally, don't use common names but God bless you for doing all that work.

I seem to remember a push to not count every episode but count seasons instead as it had the potential to really skew the results.  I don't know if anything ever came from from that discussion.  T!M is more of a common name expert than I am so you might want to ask him.

I don't think it's vague at all.  "at any time when the film is played with the language matching the profile's locality"

For a German profile of a German release, if the film is played with the dialogue dubbed in German, then you would include the voice actors if they are displayed at any time.  If you happened to choose, as an example, Spanish.  Then you would not include them as that doesn't match the profile's locality.

Did you ever see the speakers in 20+ languages ALWAYS shown at the end of something from Netflix?

I'm actually seeing this more an more where there are multiple screens at the very end of a show or movie listing the voice actors for different localities.

and what would you add here ?
I added "Lionsgate Limited 25th Anniversary Uncut Version" as edition

I would not include "Lionsgate Limited" as it is not on the cover.

Access ? Is the office ap?

That was my thought.  I initially used MS Access when I first started collecting but it was a very rudimentary design.  Nothing even close to what Movie Madness did.

yea.  you are correct.  and it SUCKS, doesn't it??  i can't remember how many i profiles i've submitted, but i can tell you that ONE HUNDRED PERCENT of them were rejected.  after a while, being told "NO" over and over, i stopped trying.  and now NO ONE gets ANY benefit of the effort i've put in for the better part of two decades!  and that SUCKS.

And why was that? I'm assuming you're specifically referring to cast and crew data. I've submitted lots of updates over the past two decades and have rarely had issues.

Yeah, this seems odd.  I've not contributed a lot...less than 1,000 profiles...but I don't think I've ever had a single one declined.  For someone to have all of their declined seems to indicate a pattern of not following the rules.

This looks amazing, do you make this available for others too?

If I shared my work with others, I would violate IMDb's terms the same way DVD Profiler would, I believe, because my tool imports heavily from IMDb.

I'm a little late to this but I don't think he meant sharing your database data, just your database design.  I use Microsoft Office but don't have the programming skills to create something this nice so would definitely be interested in the design.

Certainly there must be someone out there who wishes to keep this software going? I don’t understand the plan here.

I honestly don't see the upside for someone to buy and maintain the software.  As far as I can tell, without a huge overhaul to the business model, it's a money pit.  I don't maintain my own servers but maintenance and bandwidth have to be costing Ken something and, without new revenue streams, it's a money pit.

Or am I wrong?
